Rewilding Projects

Transform your campus.

What if parts of your campus could become mini ecosystems—bursting with native plants, pollinators, and wildlife? That’s where our Rewilding Projects come in.

We partner with students, staff, and grounds teams to redesign underutilized lawns and open spaces into vibrant habitats using native species. These spaces don’t just look beautiful—they restore biodiversity, sequester carbon, and reconnect your community with nature.

Why rewild?

Rewilding is about more than landscaping—it’s a tool for ecological restoration and community engagement. By reintroducing native plants, creating wildlife-friendly habitats, and transforming underused areas, campuses can:

  • Restore Biodiversity

Provide homes for pollinators, birds, and other species.

  • Combat climate change

Plant vegetation that stores carbon and adapts to local conditions.

  • Engage the community

Turn rewilded areas into living classrooms, research spaces, and spots for students to enjoy nature.

  • Redefine campus beauty

Showcase diverse, resilient landscapes that reflect the natural heritage of your region.

Rewilding in Action

At Grinnell College, students transformed a 5,000 sq ft quad by planting native prairie grasses. What was once a standard lawn became a thriving ecosystem—a living classroom and pollinator haven.

Projects like this show how rewilding can create measurable ecological impact while inspiring the campus community.
