Reimagining campus grounds for people and planet—one program at a time.
Green Grounds Certification
Recognizing campuses leading the way.
The Green Grounds Certification honors institutions that manage their land organically—without toxic, synthetic chemicals. With four tiers (Bronze–Platinum), campuses are recognized for creating healthier landscapes, increasing biodiversity, saving water, and protecting human health. Certification builds momentum and sets a national standard for sustainable land care.
Our virtual bootcamp equips emerging leaders with the advocacy, organizing, and multimedia skills needed to tackle pesticide use and rewild their communities. You’ll learn the history and impacts of pesticides, explore connections to social justice and climate change, and leave ready to launch a real campaign.
Our Organic Pilot Projects guide campuses through a 2–3 year transition away from pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. Grounds staff learn science-based organic practices—like compost teas, overseeding, and soil health management—that deliver the same aesthetic quality while saving water, sequestering carbon, and protecting communities.
We help campuses reimagine underutilized spaces by re-landscaping them with native plants. These projects restore habitat, increase biodiversity, and create wildlife-friendly places for the community to enjoy. From prairie grasses to pollinator gardens, rewilding brings nature back to campus.
Whether you’re a student ready to advocate, a staff member seeking sustainable solutions, or a campus leader aiming to set a new standard—our programs provide the pathway. Together, we can create campuses that are healthier for people, climate, and biodiversity.
